WANDERBIRD goes Mexico
After our successful premiere in 2024, we are excited to return to Mexico for another WANDERBIRD Trophy!
Once again, La Malinche Flightpark offers the perfect terrain for scenic flying, relaxed community vibes and our unique Hike & Fly challenge format.
Después de nuestra exitosa primera edición en 2024, estamos emocionados de regresar a México para la WANDERBIRD Trophy 2025! Una vez más, el Flightpark de La Malinche ofrece el terreno perfecto para vuelos panorámicos, un ambiente relajado de comunidad y nuestro formato único de desafío Hike & Fly.
What to expect for the competition
• Two categories: FUN & HERO
• All pilots start together in Tenancingo
• Task route: Tenancingo → Bistro Turnpoint → Goal at La Malinche
• Total distance: approx. 25 km (straight line)
• FUN: Hike to takeoff only – gear is shuttled to La Malinche; Pass Bistro Turnpoint in the air
• HERO: Carry full gear from Tenancingo to takeoff; Must land and take a selfie at Bistro
• The route is designed to be fully flyable – except for the hike to takeoff,
the rest is up to your skills and the conditions!
¿Qué esperar de la competencia?
• Dos categorías: FUN y HERO
• Todos los pilotos comienzan juntos en Tenancingo
• Ruta de la prueba: Tenancingo → Punto de giro “Bistro” → Meta en La Malinche
• Distancia total: aprox. 25 km en línea recta
• FUN: Solo caminata hasta el despegue – el equipo se transporta al despegue en La Malinche;
Pueden pasar el Bistro en vuelo
• HERO: Deben llevar todo su equipo a pie desde Tenancingo; Deben aterrizar y tomarse una selfie en el Bistro
• La ruta está diseñada para ser completamente volable – excepto la caminata al despegue,
el resto depende de tus habilidades y las condiciones!
More than just a race
The WANDERBIRD Trophy is not only about competition – it’s a full experience.
It includes a welcome talk and detailed briefing on Friday evening, and a relaxed Community Flying Day on Sunday.
We’ve already created a WhatsApp group for all interested pilots, managed by our local guide Pablo – last year’s winner!
He’s available for training meetups, flying tips, and all kinds of local support.

La WANDERBIRD Trophy no es solo una competencia – es una experiencia completa.
Incluye una charla de bienvenida y un briefing detallado el viernes por la tarde, además de un Día de vuelo comunitario el domingo.
Ya hemos creado un grupo de WhatsApp para todos los pilotos interesados, gestionado por nuestro guía local Pablo, ¡el ganador del año pasado!
Está disponible para entrenamientos, consejos de vuelo y todo tipo de apoyo local.

Details
Turnpoints
The choice of the route between turnpopints is left to the athletes themselves. Precise route planning and dealing with the personal route is an important part of the race preparation.
All athletes must complete the turnpoints in the given order.
When reaching a turnpoint, a photo must be taken as proof.
Event specific details will be explained in the mandatory race briefing.
Parking & Camping
​There are approx. 40 parking spaces also for Camper Vans available at the event site.
